Topaz and Chalcedony
As mentioned earlier in this book definition and meaning are of great importance as they relate to the specific subject matter at hand.
Many authors will state the considered magical properties of these stones without giving you the many varieties that are known to exist.
Here they'll be noted because, I think variety has impact, showing more than one thing in each aspect and nature.
Birthstones will be shown in both precious and semi-precious names for each month and all stones will show both the traditional and modern listing(s).
Stones of any sort are considered to contain the ability to "record-hold-release" data from each stones individual history.
Many people read, or get messages from stones and many use them to heal and sooth.
There are also mystics that use them like a tape recorder.
You talk into it and latter when you pick it up again you hear what you've said.
Call it a memory enhancer.
The varieties of stones are vast and various as we continue to look into the aspect of Chalcedony and the different types that exist.
The following list are of types of Chalcedony:

Chalcedony: Agate is a variety of chalcedony with multi-colored concentric banding. There are trillions of mixtures in agates and when polished are spectacular and intricate.
Agate is associated to the month of May as a semi-precious stone.
Carnelian (also spelled cornelian) is a clear-to-translucent reddish-brown variety of chalcedony. Its hue may vary from a pale orange, to nearly black in color.
Similar to carnelian is sard, which is brown rather than red.
Chrysoprase (also spelled chrysophrase) is a green variety of chalcedony, which has been colored by nickel oxide.

Heliotrope is a green variety of chalcedony, containing red inclusions of iron oxide. These inclusions resemble drops of blood, giving heliotrope its
alternative name of bloodstone. A similar variety, in which the spots are yellow instead of red is known as plasma.

(Heliotrope)
Moss agate (also known as tree agate or mocha stone) contains green filament-like inclusions, giving it the superficial appearance of moss or blue cheese.
It's not a true form of agate, as it lacks agate's defining feature of concentric banding.

(Moss Agate)
Mtorolite is a green variety of chalcedony, which has been colored by chromium. Principally found in Zimbabwe.
(Mtorolite)
(Onyx)
Several onyx forms Onyx is a variant of agate with black and white banding.
Similarly,
agate
with brown and white
banding is known as sardonyx.
Topaz:

This crystalline stone can be found all around the world and in a wide variety of colors.
It has been mentioned in some way in most every religious text as an important part of the jewelry and dress of the Pharo, King, Queen, Leader, etc.
It was most commonly confused as a form of diamond because of its brilliant nature and look.
The Topaz with today's highest value comes from Brazil and most of us know the stone to be of a bluish hue but it comes in yellow, pink, and clear.
It's been renowned for it's medicinal properties.
Considered that the wearer could be cured of medical problems by simply having the stone worn upon the body.
Like so many other stones it was used as a medium for clairvoyance and to receive messages from the Gods.
Topaz is November's birthstone as a precious stone.
