Amber, Cross stone, Twined Crystals

ambspdambmos

Amber: Of course amber is a fossil or fossilized tree resin that is classified as a gemstone and because of this fact the amber is representative

of the oldest known stone to be fashioned into jewelry with pieces found dating back over 10,000 years old.

When amber is rubbed against wool it produces an electrical charge and this being noticed by the Greeks gave rise to the word electron, which

is where we eventually derived the word electricity.

It is common for insects and parts of insects to be trapped in the sap prior to its fossilization and even whole insects and it is warm to the touch,

unlike any other gemstone which gave rise to the ancient belief that amber is alive.

Often the high priestess in a coven ritual will be adorned with jewelry made with amber which represents the female nature and is attributed to

love, luck, fertility, protection and healing.

I only name a few of the many different aspects of this mineral as there are a great many more that could be listed but then the overall

relationships would be muddled.

crossstone

Cross stone: The cross stone is a strange enigma that grows naturally in the form of a cross.

It is a silicate class stone and has commonly two arms that are diamond shaped that grow in 60˚ to 90˚ angles from each other.

It has the quality of twin crystals or twined crystals with a dark thick color.

The technical name for the cross stone is staurolite and it is the state mineral for Georgia (US) and occurs by a metamorphosis of twinning

where the formations grow across one another as mentioned above and are composed of iron, magnesium and zinc.

I have found these stones next to rivers and streams and it takes little more than looking for them to discover them.

If they are in the area you will see the diamond shaped arms amongst the pebbles, they will be black or dark grey and there will be at least one

within a five to seven foot square area, usually and it is rare to find one with all four arms that forms a full cross usually you will find pieces

and parts, but once again the diamond shape is quite distinguishable.

It's funny how many things we step over throughout the course of our lives and a day later wish we had a sample or specimen of, not realizing

of course that we just stepped over one the day before.

Twined Crystals: I'm more apt to believe that this means twinned crystals, which happens when two crystals share the same points of lattice

where they geometrically match each other at the termination points.

All forms of crystals are subject to twinning and even diamonds that are twinned will be used to shape each other as well as paired for life in

their settings in jewelry.

The natural union and similar formation at angles from each other and still yet connected gives way to undercurrents of thought in the ways

that nature shows its messages in our physical world.

Some people will say that we are all one and connected in the aloof thought of the grand nature of all things and to them I will have to advise

telling the crabs that when you put your hand into a bucket of live ones or tell it to the street thug that wants the $50 he thinks is in your

pocket, holding a section of pipe in a dimly lit alley at midnight, hungry for his next fix.

Seeing the union is totally equated to your awareness of the separation.

I have stood in that dimly lit alley and when all was said and done the thug and I were friends and giving help to each other but that is because

I found a way to relate to the person at their level of existence and they decided to let me.

I helped them see how I was alike to them only because they allowed me the time and heard what I said, which would involve listening.

It does not always work out this way and I'm sure that the bucket of crabs could be done without loosing a finger but a mound of fire ants

would surely be more predictable.

The point is to keep a workable and honest view of how things are made and arranged and finally how you are able to apply that view to

creation in the physical plane.

After all how many will attack their own reflection?
