9_11.................Path #20 (Chesed-Mercy to Tiphareth-Harmony)
As with all of the paths the work is only a consideration until the meditation is actually performed by the person doing the thinking.
This area has a lot to do with what you can call the tolerance of a person or how much they can handle before they are adversely affected by something in their surroundings that others might find distracting or disruptive.
Again the merciful concept comes into play and to be honest with what mercy is to ones universe is usually something we think to be automatic as more of a reaction than an evaluation.
Someone cuts quickly in from of you on the roadway and there are certain reactions that could ensue 1-Wave understandingly, 2-Comment to yourself about some people, 3-Just notice it and no response, 4-Flip the bird to him or her, 5-Wait till they stop and get out and start a fight and well you get the idea that within this reaction that is pretty much automatic by now in your life you can see how you are either using mercy or not.
The harmony is an emission from the person holding it and much like an angry person chain reacting with a bad mood in the morning a harmonious person will have the same ability but not always affect as quickly as anger or argument due to the more primary nature of the physical.
Be happy and stay happy no matter what the situation is quite a task but in case you haven't noticed there are a great many people that maintain this attitude as best they can throughout their daily lives.
They figure that things are bad enough and there's no point in trying to make things worse and what's the point of that?
It's a path that holds the self decided reasons and convictions that determine where your actual devotions lie in the vast realm of things within your universe and how you treat them.
These are things that you are sure you know and are for the most part already automatic like no one needs to show you how to slap a mosquito or pet a kitten but then there are some that will slap the kitten because they decided that kittens are bad and will suck the life out of humans.
These phobias do exist as an overall part of the nature(s) of mankind as a whole and should be a firm consideration when looking at the doorstep to see how much sweeping you may need to do before telling anyone else how much they have on theirs.
So yes in a way you could call it the self-critical nature of a person in essence.
Again in reference to Scientology this is where the person keys in or becomes so focused on a single (self-involved) issue it creates obsession and depression.
Not that all obsession leads to depression by any means but in this case the obsession is on the self and the defects or considered defects that are self created problems that block the abilities of the spirit by their own consideration that they can't do it, whatever it may be.
This is where Lao Tzu speaks of letting go and releasing the physical bonds and needs/greeds of the flesh and political attainment (self glory) and it is in this way things will be more achievable.
It is the main reason a ceremonial priest or magician will assume another form to perform a more powerful ritual because as a higher form you are conceptually more able to do greater things.
As a preliminary action I have found it effective to take the time to become more than you are in your everyday life, during the meditation and assume a greater essence than you are commonly as you exist walking the Earth each day, as mentioned in an earlier section so that the planet is like a spec of sand beneath your feet.
Or as the form of Kephera or Christ you can function on a greater level. Even in the way a person handles each detail of their life they show compassion or a lack of it towards themselves and others and so these are harmonious mercy's that we have each chosen to emulate through our valances.
