Here in the meaning of the tarot the Hermit card can mean either you need to get out more or just the opposite and you'll know because of the lifestyle of the person that has drawn it.

I found that when I was first obsessing over learning everything that I could about magic and Cabalah that I was spending all of my time in the living room or basement or temple room and not, or hardly ever leaving the house and socializing and it seemed foreign to go out to a bar and have drinks with crowds of people around.

I spent a good number of years as a hermit in my studies and stepping out to the woods to try an experiment or two but became reclusive to most of the world around me.

Intensely focused on finding the inner light and working with daily meditations and rituals keeping journals and notes and records of all of the attempts and results was a full time occupation and then one day the realization hits you that you need to go the other way around and get out to the people and use that which you have learned to work with the real world and real people to create real changes.

In my case I went from one extreme to another running a biker bar for a couple years and then dropped everything and moved to the beaches of central Florida where I was unknown and alone to start from proverbial scratch and actually put to use all that I had learned in my years of study.

It is all fine and well to have the feeling that you have found something special but it is actually in the use of that thing you think you have found that you gain the self-evident truths to feel confident.

What you are sure about within your own feelings would be known as your personal inner truth. Truth is an agreed upon reality.

The indication is one of advancement in the spiritual nature and depending on the question and person asking it, not unlike any other card can hold a definite caution and the individual at issue can only determine the reasons behind this caution.
