"Mirror of the Soul."

Within the pages of your magical journal you ought to keep this for your own reflection and personal evaluation.
Within, you can begin, by first making two columns. One "positive" and the other "negative".
Within these columns you will list aspects that you of aware of, about yourself.
That which you consider to be positive aspects you will, of course list beneath the positive column and so forth.
You are also to break down the "nature" of each of these aspects, by element, as your opinion dictates.
That is to say which one of your "natures" is of water, which of fire, which of air and which is more of earth.
For instance anger would be more of fire than say sorrow.
To aid you in this work here are some guidelines for you to consider.

Fire=doing/active/vicious
Water=feeling/passive/caring
Air=thinking/contemplation/intention
Earth=having/completing/stable

You will find that you are brought to consider not only the basic make up of the traits that you see in your self.
But how many, if not all of your traits are combinations of elements.
For instance:
A "Quest for knowledge" (strong interest) would be a "fire and air" combo.
Where a "Quest for revenge" (hatred) would be a "fire of fire" combo.
Or the "Quest for love" (horny) to be a "fire and water" combo.
Or the "Quest for money" (greed) to be a "fire and earth" combo etc...

I found that I made two MAJOR columns with four sub-columns, in each.
The two majors were positive and negative.
The subdivisions are of the elements. Fire, Water, Earth, Air.
You will also find, as you progress in this work that there are aspects that you consider about yourself that fit into both the positive and negative columns.
Do not be confused by this. Simply list them in both of the areas to which they are applicable.

Once again this work is not for the viewing and consideration of others by only for your own development.
You will also discover that there are more than just two of the elements that are attributed to certain, if not most of your aspects.
For instance:
Things that make you feel in any way "down" are 'earthy' feelings.
Although the "caring" alone is watery the "depressed caring" would be earth and water mixed and now if you mix anger with that depression, you add fire to the other two.
It is up to you to consider which of the elements that there is "more" of with each of your aspects.

It may help to say to yourself, "Sometimes I am __________." (fill in the blank)
And this is how your list progresses.
In this work it is not as important to be neat and orderly, in your writing, as it is to be thorough.

Another part of this work is to place within, or to the side of your list of columns the words:
"Always. Sometimes. Never or rarely."
And as your list/mirror evolves, make these separations and differentiations.
